Fresh from two major roles at New York’s Metropolitan Opera, where he channeled Frank Sinatra in the company’s Rigoletto and made his house title role debut in Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette, Stephen heads to Russia for a special concert of operatic duets with soprano Dinara Alieva and conductor Constantine Orbelian at the Moscow Conservatory. Next the Tucker Award-winning tenor opens Armenia’s Yerevan International Music Festival, before headlining La traviata at the Yerevan Opera Theater, as Alfredo. To round out his spring lineup, Stephen reprises this signature role back in Moscow, with three performances at the storied Bolshoi Theatre. As Opera News notes in a “Spotlight” double-page spread in its just-published February issue, “the all-American tenor” is now “at the top of his game.”
