This spring: German Rigolettos; Stabat Mater in Munich

After his return to Toronto, tenor Stephen Costello looks forward to reprising the Duke of Mantua in a pair of German Rigolettos this spring. He first graces Nikolaus Lehnhoff’s treatment of the opera at the Dresden Opera (March 30–June 8).

Stephen then stars alongside Simon Keenlyside at Deutsche Oper Berlin (May 3–11), under the baton of conductor Guillermo García Calvo.

This spring also sees Stephen make his Munich Philharmonic debut in Dvořák’s Stabat Mater, under the baton of Manfred Honeck (April 12–15). He is joined onstage by soprano Hanna-Elisabeth Müller, contralto Wiebke Lehmkuhl, bass Christof Fischesser, and Philharmonische Chor München.
