‘La Bohème’ at The Metropolitan Opera

Stephen Costello returns to The Metropolitan Opera on November 30, bowing as Rodolfo in Zeffirelli’s classic production of Puccini’s La Bohème. Costello is an acclaimed interpreter of this iconic role, which he has previously sung at The Met, LA Opera, Teatro Real, Staatsoper Berlin, Teatro di San Carlo, Semperoper Dresden, Staatsoper Hamburg, New National Theatre Tokyo, Washington National Opera, and more.

Of a previous performance at The Met, New York Classical Review said, “Stephen Costello’s tenor is lean and elegant, as is his appearance… His adept singing and acting in Act IV, when Rodolfo and Mimi sing of their love and recall memories of the past, added to the all-consuming sadness of the scene. ”

Costello joins an incredible cast, singing under the baton of Daniele Rustioni. Juliana Grigoryan and Susanna Phillips sing Mimì, with Mané Galoyan as Musetta, David Bizic as Marcello, Iurii Samoilov as Schunard, and Alexander Köpeczi as Colline.

Costello appears as Rodolfo on November 30 and December 4, 8, and 12.
