‘Rigoletto’ at The Metropolitan Opera
In December, Stephen Costello will appear as the Duke of Mantua in Giuseppe Verdi’s Rigoletto at The Metropolitan Opera following a highly successful run of La traviata at this storied opera house this past fall.
Speranza Scappucci conducts Bartlett Sher’s art deco-inspired production which premiered at The Met on New Year’s Eve in 2021. Joining Mr. Costello on stage will include Michael Chioldi (Dec. 11) and Luca Salsi as Rigoletto, Lisette Oropesa as Gilda, Aigul Akhmetshina as Maddalena and John Relyea as Sparafucile.
Mr. Costello’s performances take place on December 11, 14, 17, 20, 23 and 29.
