‘Tosca’ in Taiwan

Stephen Costello will portray Cavaradossi in Giacomo Puccini’s Tosca at the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts in Taiwan on June 28 and 30. In the masterful opera, Cavaradossi, an idealistic painter, becomes ensnared in a perilous plot involving his lover, Tosca, and the ruthless Chief of Police, Scarpia, resulting in a gripping tale of love, betrayal, and sacrifice.

Costello will be part of a stellar cast, including Laura Wilde as Tosca, Aleksey Bogdanov as Scarpia, Julian Lo as Angelotti, Fang-hao Chao as Sacristan, Yin-Chi Chang as Spoletta, and Ing-jie Wen as Sciarrone. Conducted by Yao-yu Wu and directed by Hinrich Horstkotte, this production will also showcase the Kaohsiung Symphony Orchestra, Planetesimal Vocal Art Studio, and Century Voice Choir.
